Rohtak, Feb 23 (ANI): The traders, whose shops were either burnt down or looted during the quota stir by the Jat community in Rohtak, Haryana, took to the streets and urged the government to compensate them for their losses at the earliest. A shopkeeper, Gulshan Dang, said, "I want to urge the Narendra Modi-led government to compensate our losses 100 percent without any delay." Another shopkeeper, Anil Kumar said that he is left with no source of income after his two showrooms were burnt down by the protestors. He asked PM Modi and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar that why are common people suffering who don't relate to Jat demands.

Sonipat (Haryana), Feb 23 (ANI): The National Highway-1, which connects Delhi and Chandigarh, was reopened for traffic on Tuesday. The 456 kilometre-long highway had been blockaded by Jat agitators demanding reservation in government jobs and institutions.

New Delhi, Feb 22 (ANI): Chief public relation officer of Northern Railways Neeraj Sharma on Monday said in view of the ongoing Jat agitation, special trains would run covering the outer regions connected with Haryana. Sharma added that a special train from Chandigarh to Anand Vihar, New Delhi, would be on the tracks by the evening, which will have a total of 17 coaches.He further informed that Northern Railways is planning to start more trains from the Jammu region.

He also appealed people to maintain peace and harmony in the state and to stop their agitation. Meanwhile, the protestors disrupted road and rail traffic with the worst hit being the Rohtak-Jhajjar region.
