Captain Abhimanyu is a prominent political leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana, who has been fielded on the Narnaund seat again in the 2024 Assembly elections.
A former Indian Army officer, he has been a significant force in state politics, particularly for his role in the first BJP-led government in Haryana, headed by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Born on December 18, 1967, in Rohtak, Haryana, Abhimanyu pursued a career in the military before transitioning into business and then politics.
As a politician, he made his mark by winning the Narnaund constituency in the 2014 Haryana Legislative Assembly elections. In Khattar's government, he served as the Finance Minister, holding additional portfolios like Revenue and Excise & Taxation. In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he was the co-incharge of Western UP and Punjab. In this election, out of four seats of which he was given the charge, BJP was able to win three- Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur and Chandigarh, while it lost in the fourth one- Amritsar.

Chandigarh/ New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Reacting over Haryana Minister Krishna Kumar Bedi allegedly abusing an engineer, Haryana Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu on Monday said no one has the right to use abusive words for his workers or collogues. He added that even he makes sure that he never uses such kind of language. Echoing similar sentiments, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said people should mind their language before speaking to their workers. He also said that he can understand that Bedi might be disappointed over something, but he should have controlled his language before talking to anyone.
