The BMC has uploaded the 'Water for All' policy on its website portal.mcgm.gov.in for citizens. Local residents can send their suggestions/objections to the mail id sewwconstes05.he@mcgm.gov.in till April 22, said the civic body.

In February, then municipal commissioner Praveen Pardeshi had presented a budget of Rs 33,441 crore for 2020-21, of which Rs 14,647 crore was for development projects. Due to Covid-19, the civic body has suffered revenue losses of over Rs 1,000 crore.

The shortfall in revenue has forced the civic body to prepare a plan of cost saving in all departments. A source from the BMC said major departments like roads, storm water drain, sewerage projects, water supply projects, and solid waste management will face cuts in their expenditure.

According to data shared by the BMC, 43.41 per cent of 2019-20 budget was spent till December 31 last year. However, sources said, many big-ticket projects have not seen any progress in the last one year.
