“We will not spare anyone, whether he is a TMC worker of a policeman. If you don’t beat them up, you are not a BJP man. No matter whether is he a TMC man or a policeman beat him up and leave the rest to me,” Dilip Ghosh said at a rally.
Odisha, West Bengal election results: In Odisha, the BJP was leading in eight Lok Sabha seats till 10.30 pm Thursday. The party had hoped to develop a support base with the Ujjwala LPG connection scheme, especially with its most prominent Odisha leader, Dharmendra Pradhan, being the face of the initiative as Petroleum Minister.
The big story of West Bengal this election season is how Banerjee may have failed to come up with an answer to the BJP. A party with little base in the state, the BJP managed to make inroads, riding on the perception that the Trinamool and Banerjee stood for appeasement politics.

The BJP is trying to make inroads into TMC's bastion state (West Bengal) which has 42 Lok Sabha seats. In 2014, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) won 34 seats, the Congress 4, while the BJP and CPI(M) bagged 2 seats each from the state.
One of the biggest clash points between the TMC and BJP was the latter’s plan to organise ‘rath yatras’. As the state government flexed its muscles and denied permission, the BJP moved the Calcutta High Court for the same.
The body of BJP worker Tapas Bagdi was found hanging from a tree in Dwaraka village of Birbhum district, while TMC block president Dipak Ghosh was shot dead in the Khayrasole area of the same district on Sunday night.

Speaking to the reporters, BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha described the TMC’s rally in Midnapore as a street corner meeting compared to the one addressed by the Prime Minister at the same venue on July 16.
