The prosecution had argued in court that there's ample evidence against the Bishop in the case and that the latter was simply trying to delay the proceedings. Both in the FIR as well as in the secret statement provided by the victim, there's clear evidence of the Bishop's acts, it said.

Fresh allegations have surfaced after a nun, who is at present a witness in the ongoing trial against the bishop, has issued a statement that Mulakkal hugged her and forcibly kissed her on the forehead at the convent in April 2017.

The nun said Mulakkal is using social media platform in order to defame her. She also alleged that the videos put up on social media platforms show some photographs of the rape victims.
