Early Success and Genre Dominance: Basu's acting debut in the thriller Ajnabee (2001) garnered her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She quickly established herself, notably through roles in the horror genre (Raaz, 2002) and erotic thriller (Jism, 2003). Her appearances in commercially successful films like No Entry (2005), Dhoom 2 (2006), Race (2008), and Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) cemented her status as a leading actress.
