"The 2 BHK housing programme of the Telangana government has failed. The Central government is sanctioning funds as its share for the scheme. Despite that, their (TRS government's) promise is still not fulfilled," Bandaru Dattatreya said
"An amount of Rs 9,000 crore was released to the banks by the RBI by June 2017, Rs 2,600 was released in the first week of July 2017 and another Rs 2,000 crore will be released to banks in Telangana on July 13," a statement from the minister said.
Union Labour and Employment Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, who hails from Telangana, on Sunady had said that he would take up the imposition of GST on bidi sector with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in order to address the concerns of tobacco farmers.

The BJP-TDP alliance released the vision document highlighting their schemes for the state in the upcoming elections. Dattatreya said under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, we will make Hyderabad's presence on the world's map. He added that focus will be on 'Clean, corrupt-free and secure' Hyderabad.
New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Congress leader Randeep Surjewala on Thursday attacked Human Resource Development (HRD) minister Smriti Irani for “lying” and giving “false” information to the nation about the Dalit scholar suicide case. Randeep said both Irani and her Cabinet colleague Bandaru Dattatreya should be sacked immediately for allegedly putting pressure on the university to suspend five Dalit students, including Rohith Vemula who committed suicide.He added that this shows that BJP and its government can go to any extent to support their people.
Hyderabad, Jan 19 (ANI): Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Government at the Centre over the suicide of a Dalit scholar in the Hyderabad University. He accused Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya and varsity's Vice Chancellor of abetting the suicide of the scholar. Rahul, who interacted with the protesting students of the University of Hyderabad, said the varsity had used to its power to 'crush' the students, instead of allowing them to express themselves.
New Delhi, Jan 19 (ANI): Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Tuesday alleged that Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya was somewhere "anti-Dalit" in nature. He said the reason behind the Dalit student suicide has not been clearly stated. He added that the Congress has always tried to be with the downtrodden at large and would continue to do so. Meanwhile, commenting on the issue, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the incident that happened in the Hyderabad University was unfortunate and offenders would be punished soon. He added that Bandaru Dattatreya is a person who is compassionate about Dalits and targeting him for political gain is not fair.
Hyderabad, Jan 19 (ANI): The members of the Telangana's Jagruti Yuva Morcha staged a protest outside Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya's residence in Hyderabad on Tuesday, demanding justice and compensation of Rs. 50 lakhs for a Dalit PhD scholar. In a tragic incident, a Dalit PhD scholar Rohith Vemula was found hanging at a central university's hostel room in Hyderabad on Sunday. Rohith, a resident of Guntur, was pursuing his PhD in society studies from the university. Union Minister for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya has been charged with abetment to suicide. A case has been filed against Dattatreya, University of Hyderabad Vice Chancellor Apparao, ABVP activist Susheel Kumar and his brother Vishnu by the Hyderabad police under section 306A. Meanwhile, the HRD ministry has asked a two-member panel to probe the case.
