A BSP leader said on the condition of anonymity that Priyanka’s appointment will increase confidence of Congress workers, as they will find something new occurring in the party, but there will be “no impact” on the SP-BSP alliance.
BSP chief Mayawati and SP leader Akhilesh Yadav today announced the two parties will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls together to defeat the BJP. The parties agreed on contesting 38 seats each in the 80-seat assembly.
On Saturday, Mayawati will share the dais with Akhilesh almost 24 years after the “guest house incident”, in which Mayawati and her MLAs were confined to a guest house in Lucknow by Mulayam Singh Yadav-led SP.
