Amid allegations of voter-base rigging and missing rare books, the Bombay High Court has asked for a fresh timeline to finalise the voters' list and hold new polls.

The election was originally expected between September and November.

Mumbai University professor Deepak Pawar says the elections at the Asiatic Society of Mumbai have been postponed ‘to prevent members who enrolled last year from voting, as memberships expire in March’.
