The case was filed in Bilaspur district, under section 10 (1) of the Schedule Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, Rules 2013 which is a non-bailable section. No arrest has been made so far said Bilaspur police.
Ajit Jogi, who had quit Congress to form the Chhattisgarh Janata Congress is currently an MLA from Marwahi seat. He is, however, likely to lose the seat as it is reserved for the Scheduled tribes (ST).
While the JCC(J) said the exits would not dent its efforts in the Lok Sabha elections, the departures are part of a trend that appear to indicate that the elections may boil down to the traditional two-horse race in the state between the BJP and Congress.
New Delhi, Jan 07 (ANI): Congress leader and wife of Ajit Jogi, Renu Jogi on Thursday said that it is very unfortunate that the suspension of her husband happened in Chhattisgarh as that was the place from where they started and were also progressing. She urged Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi to listen to them rather than believing the one-sided story. She also asked the grand old party to investigate more into the matter.
