The saffron party workers, along with 18 newly elected MPs in the state, including BJP state president Dilip Ghosh, were marching towards the Kolkata Police headquarters in Lalbazar from the Wellington area of the city.
“Both who died were known in the area as TMC supporters," District President and senior TMC leader Jyotipriya Mullick told The Indian Express. Local TMC leaders are on the way to meet the deceased family.
Police confirmed only one death on Saturday evening, but said the number could rise. “One person is dead and several others are critically injured. More deaths are expected, unfortunately,” a local police officer told The Sunday Express.
"While trying to oppose learning of Hindi, some Bengalis are offering two arguments.... First, the southern states are opposing. Kolkata, Jan 06 (ANI): Trinamool Congress (TMC) Party leader Idris Ali on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of having links with terrorist in regard to the Pathankot terror attack. He questioned the recent visit of Prime Minister Modi to Pakistan, saying that there was something suspicious.
