Micromax Canvas 6 Pro First Look

Seeking to reboot its image, Micromax on Wednesday announced that it will launch 19 new devices, including LED TVs and tablets, in India this month. It also announced a new flagship smartphone series called Canvas 6, which will be priced at Rs 13,999 and will come in two SKUs — Canvas 6 with 3GB RAM and all metal body, and a Canvas 6 Pro with 4GB RAM.
However, for Micromax the big announcement was its brand rejig, which includes a new logo and it’s ‘Around’ integrated service, which will be available on all new smartphones. The company, which wants to be in the top five global handset manufacturers by 2020, says it sees itself as an Internet company and wants to connect 100 million Micromax devices by 2017.

The Indian-handset manufacturer will also launch its own e-commerce store for its devices, and says it wants to ensure 100 per cent local manufacturing for its smartphones as part of its commitment to the Make in India initiative.Micromax says it is looking at adding three more plants in Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan with an investment of Rs 300 crore as well as creating job opportunities for over 10,000 people by 2017. In terms of specs, the flagship Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro have a 5.5-inch full HD display, are powered by MediaTek Helio X10 Tru-octa processors, and come with a 13 megapixel rear camera.
