Uttarakhand Crisis: Cong, BJP Delegations Meet President, Ask For Time To Prove Majority

The BJP on Monday asked President Pranab Mukherjee to dismiss the Uttarakhand government and give them time to prove majority on the floor of the state Assembly. A five-member delegation of the BJP including partyy general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and state BJP unit chief Ajay Bhat met Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday evening.
“We have requested the President to direct the Governor to dismiss Uttarakhand Government. We have also asked the President to direct the Governor to give us time to prove our majority on the floor of the house,” said Vijayvargiya after the meeting
The BJP took out a march from Vijay Chowk to Rashtrapati Bhawan with all its MPs and MLAs, including the nine Congress rebel MLAs, to highlight that the Harish Rawat government had lost majority after it failed to get the finance bill passed and has no moral right to be in power. See more.
