Ravi Shastri To Apply For India’s Head Coach Position

Shastri was director of the Indian cricket team between 2014 and 2016 in which he led the team to the semi-final of the 2015 World Cup and 2016 T20I World Cup. He had also applied for the job in 2016 but Kumble was chosen over him. The former spinner was offered a one-year contract. Under him, the team beat West Indies in a Test series before inflicting Test defeats on New Zealand, England, Bangladesh and Australia at home. They also won the accompanying limited overs series. India then reached the final of the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Yes we need a Senior Person like Ravi Shastri to head as Coach and with his Cricketing brains he can shine and out perform others which he did during his last stint. It is not that everyone can become an Cricket Coach for the India team or those who captioned the Indian team. Not all the Captains shined well during their stint with our National Team but a few like Pataudi, Ajit Wadekar, Kapil Dev, Saurav Ganguly, M S Dhoni only shined and made histories through their performance and not the likes of Gavaskar, Dravid, Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Bedi, etc., never shined as Captain though they individually excelled in their roles as Batsman, Bowler and brought laurels to the Nation.

Good to see Ravi Sashtri back in contention. This Sourav Ganguly should keep his Socialistic views to himself and not restart these ego games. He is full of it.We all saw his shirtless display of jingoism at Lords. One must be graceful in victory and humble in victory.Thats a true sports ambassador.Ravi will revive things , he has rubbed shoulders with the great minds of the game sitting at Channel 9, for years, as well as played the game during those tough times for India

Ravi being a great cricketer of his time is but a d..k liking slave. He has no morals but a a.. licking politician who will sell his soul for publicity. A coach has to be strong to defy his captain and the team players. He must have a vision and see that the realise that dream A coach may succeed or fail but must remain strong in his beliefs. Ravi is not that person
