PM Modi On Kashmir Violence: Analysing His Remarks

Addressing a meeting led by former Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed concern and ‘pain’ over the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation called on PM Modi to apprise him of impasse in the Valley. The Prime Minister emphasised on the need for dialogue to find a lasting solution within the framework of the Constitution.

PM Modi told a delegation of opposition leaders of Jammu and Kashmir that those who lost their lives during the recent unrest are a “part of us” and it is a matter of “distress” whether the lives lost are of “our youth, security personnel or police,” official sources said.

The Prime Minister said his government stands with the state of Jammu and Kashmir and its people. “We need to find a permanent and lasting solution to the problem within the framework of the Constitution,” the Prime Minister said.

Modi also emphasised the need for all political parties to work together to find a solution to the problems of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the sources said. Kashmir has been witnessing unrest since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani on July 8.

Pelletguns used by forcee with good intension of not to kill our own brothers. But the user lacked experience to handle it. So dont blame our security force for using this nonlethel weapon.

If an all party meeting is held on JandK unrest will there be any change of hearts? The out come of the meeting can well be predicted. Will there be any new suggestion/ideas from Separatists? "There should be political solution and not administrative steps" as claimed by NC Omar Abdullah. What they were doing all these 70 years? What congress was doing ? India has inherited huge problem due to bad politics, bad administration and bad policy on JandK.

Instead of All Party Delegation to visit JandK, why not an All Party Govt. put in place in JandK to handle the situation unitedly so that all the Political parties can take credit for all the good things done by them collectively and as well restore normalcy and can work towawrds Development in the region in a phased manner.
