One Of 17 Lions Captured From Gir Identified As ‘Man-Eater’

The 17 lions captured last month for killing three people near the Gir Sanctuary has been identified as “man-eater” and has been sent to Sakkarbuag Zoo, said an official. Chief Forest Conservator of Junagadh division A.P. Singh said after analysing their pug marks and faces during the 25-day captivity, one adult male was found to have turned man-eater and guilty of killing locals, as human remains were found from his excreta. The pride of 17 lions was caged last month outside the Gir Wildlife Sanctuary in Dhari taluka of Amreli district.
