A Jawaharlal Nehru University PHD student was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his hostel room, after he reportedly went missing since the past three days. A resident of Manipur, J R Philemon Chiru, was was found dead in room no 171 of JNU’s Brahmaputra Hostel. A senior police official said that the door was forcefully opened after students in the neighbouring room complained of foul smell emanating from the room. His body has been preserved at AIIMS mortuary for postmortem. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of death. JNU administration is already rallying through protests as another student Najeeb Ahmad went missing eleven days ago and has not been located yet.
