Jammu and Kashmir children interact with PM Modi

Kashmir, Jan 13 (ANI): It was a dream come true for some 240 children from Jammu and Kashmir as they interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence in New Delhi. The youth, in the age-group of 15 to 24, were mostly from militancy-affected families, orphanages and weaker sections of the society. The Prime Minister interacted with the students for over half-an-hour and spoke about steps being taken for Jammu and Kashmir's development, including in areas like tourism, digital connectivity and housing among others. The Prime Minister also discussed problems like unemployment in the state. The kids were on a visit to Delhi as part of the "Wattan Ko Jano" or "know your country" initiative being carried out by the Ministry of Home Affairs in coordination with the State government. The government organizes such interactive sessions to give exposure to children from militancy-affected Jammu and Kashmir and provide them an opportunity to understand the dividends of peace.
