A First Year MTech student of Rajabazar Science College Rajashree Chattopadhyay was in for a rude shock when she found a hoarding outside her house in Kolkata, displaying her Facebook profile page, accompanied with the message that said ‘Shame on you’. The student had taken to facebook to express her anger over Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s decision to hold a Durga Puja immersion carnival and also her plan to make the pujas a 10-day affair next year. Highlighting how crores of money is being spent on Pujas while state employees were not getting their DA, Rajashree said she raised this issue on facebook which was followed by a friendly discussion. A group of women also reportedly assembled near her house and asked her to apologise in public. The student, however, has not lodged a complaint with the police yet and has refused to apologise.
