Ram Gopal Yadav who was expelled from the Samajwadi Party few weeks ago has been reinstated. A party statement said his expulsion stands annulled effective immediately. He will continue to be the party’s Rajya Sabha leader, its general secretary, spokesperson and member of the central parliamentary board. Ram Gopal Yadav, who was seen as a strong supporter of CM Akhilesh Yadav, was expelled from the Samajwadi Party on October 24 on charges of anti-party activities. Ram Gopal’s expulsion was seen as retaliation for the sacking of Shivpal Yadav, Mulayam’s younger brother. Shivpal, at a press conference, had accused Ram Gopal of trying to divide the party at the behest of the BJP.
