An elderly man died due to a suspected heart attack while sitting under a marquee erected outside a bank branch in Ranpur taluka of Botad district on Wednesday. Ranpur police said Jilubhai Khachar (70), a farmer from Sanganpur village of Ranpur taluka collapsed all of a sudden while sitting under the marquee erected outside a branch of Bank of Barada in Ranpur town. He was rushed to a local government hospital where he died after brief treatment. The incident took place at around 2 pm. “Doctors said prima facie, Khachar suffered a heart attack. His family members also confirmed that he was a heart patient,” Limdi police sub-inspector Raju Karmatiya said.
