Defence Minister Against Quota For Women In Armed Forces

Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday said he was against any reservation policy for women in the armed forces but added that he favoured gender parity. Parrikar said that positive approach gives you a successful story. “Reservation, rather I’ll call it as an affirmative action, a better action than a reservation particularly in this field where it has to be also accepted and need to move smoothly without that,” said Parrikar. Parrikar further said that he was trying to make changes in the system starting with Air force.
