Assembly Elections 2017: Rahul Gandhi Begins 2500 Km Mahayatra From Deoria

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, in a bid to end Congres’ 27-years-long exile from power in the politivcally crucial Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming Assembly polls and to reinvigorate the party, has embarked on a month long mahayatra that is to begin on Tuesday. The yatra will commence from Deoria and its last stop will be Delhi.

He said, it is a campaign to secure the rights of the poor, farmers and labourers in the government resources. During the mahayatra, in which he will be traversing about 2,500km through Uttar Pradesh, he will cover as many as 233 assembly constituencies to reach out to people ahead of crucial polls slated early next year. His campaigning would include door-to-door collecting of Kisan Mangpatras, one-to-one interaction with farmers ‘khaat sabhas’ in 21 districts and will also do road shows in numerous towns and cities.
