Being Chetan Bhagat

India’s best selling English writer in no way agrees to those calling him a ‘locale’ writer. “I have never claimed to be somebody. I write books for the masses. I write popular fiction and I have been doing for 10 years now, so it gets a little boring. Often these people have no credibility or any achievement of consequence to really comment on what is literature.”

He further added, “People who are really accomplished actually do appreciate what I do, whether its Shashi Tharur or be it Amitav Ghosh or Sheela Seth. These are people who praise my books in public withpout me even knowing them. So actually the people saying this are typcally faceless troll who are trying to publish their books and feel that somehow I am responsible for their downfall.”
