Rio 2016 Olympics: Sushmita Sen On PV Sindhu Reaching Badminton Finals

Sushmita Sen is all praise for PV Sindhu who defeated Japanese counterpart Okuhara and reached the badminton finals confirming at least a silver for India. The actress was speaking at the launch of a designer label Rebecca Dewan in Mumbai on Thursday.

The former Miss Universe’s joy knew no bounds after India opened its medal account at the Olympics this morning with Shivani Malik winning a bronze in wrestling and PV Sindhu, by the dawn, confirming at least a silver in badminton.

Sushmita Sen said, “Since this morning there are medals raining for our country. I am very very excited. Before coming on the show, PV Sindhu finally went on confirming either a gold or a silver for badminton. I am so excited about it.”

The actress reflected a plethora of emotions, patriotism and pride for the Olympic participants as she expressed her feelings of representing India on a global platform.

“To wear India on your chest, to represent your country, its a feeling I have known. And when I see someone else doing it… I start crying even in makeup. Its just a very emotional feel for me,” she said.

Encouraging PV Sindhu, who is to play badminton finals on Friday night, Sushmita Sen said, “So tonight is a very special night going by our special ladies for our country. Its going to be quite powerful time for the women.”
