The Parliament has finally passed the Telangana Bill amid unprecedented scenes in the Lok Sabha. The transmission of the Lok Sabha TV was cut as the Members of Parliament trooped into the Well of the House. There have been widespread protests in Delhi and Andhra Pradesh over the contentious Bill. As per the division, Telangana will comprise 10 districts while the rest of Andhra Pradesh would retain 13 districts. Hyderabad is to be the common capital for both states for a period not exceeding 10 years.
Sonia had promised the people of Telangana that she will give them a separate state. She has fulfilled her commitment, said Shinde.
Chandrasekhar Rao was on Monday sworn in as Chief Minister of newly-carved out state of Telangana.
