The inquiry committee of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly investigating a sting operation on Muzaffarnagar riots, had tabled its report in the Assembly last month, holding several staff members of TV Today Network guilty
The Assembly passed the decision by voice vote, though BJP legislators staged a walkout to register their disagreement with the committee report.
BJP sources said that party will now have the advantage in the ‘divisive politics’ going into the the assembly elections.
The by-elections were necessitated in Muzaffarnagar, Deoband and Bikapur due to death of of SP MLAs Chitranjan Swaroop, Rajendra Singh Rana and Mitrasen Yadav last year.
