The High Court had on February 25 stayed trial against Sooraj while hearing a petition filed by Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan challenging the investigating agency CBI’s charge sheet terming Jiah’s death as a suicide.
High Court directed Pancholi to give a photocopy of the passport to the CBI.
Pancholi also sought lifting of the restriction that he should seek the CBI’s permission to travel within India.
Public prosecutor Dinesh Tiwari, earlier the lawyer of Jiah’s mother Rabiya Khan, was not present at the hearing in morning. The matter was posted after lunch.
Sooraj Pancholi said, “The case is still in court. 10 people have 10 different things to say about it. I will talk once the case is cleared.”
