On Thursday morning, body of Aarti was found lying on a bed inside her house located at Naholi village under mysterious circumstances. A few injury marks were also spotted around her neck.
Batala Superintendent of Police, Pardeep Malik, said that while Nargis was a Mazhabi Sikh, Ravi was a Christian.
The accused, according to police, are the relatives of the victim’s classmate. They had allegedly kidnapped and strangled the boy before burying him.
The accused confessed to have killed his daughter Shivani as she was adamant to marry the youth of her choice.
After preliminary investigation, police suspected it to be a case of honour killing as the boy had reportedly eloped with a minor girl from Muslim community in Ahmednagar.
Police have also arrested the Jaunpur resident with whom the girl was having an affair. The youth, a Dalit, works as a tailor.
The victim’s father was visiting a relative in Muzaffarnagar when the incident happened.
A murder case was registered after the recovery of the body but no arrest has been made yet.
Police said on April 1, Rahul directed her to call the victim and asked him to come to the Loni area of Ghaziabad.
Head constable Jitender said the state in which the bodies were found suggested that the murders were meticulously planned.
After inspecting the spot, the police concluded that both the persons were killed somewhere else.
The girl’s body was discovered half-an-hour after she reportedly left home to attend nature’s call.
The family was against Kumari’s relationship with a youth from the same village, Ajay.
