Digvijaya Singh, who is in charge of party affairs in Karnataka, however, denied reports that he had asked the Chief Minister to order an inquiry into the matter.

The court on Friday had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant when the ex-CM, an accused in the alleged scam, did not turn up in the court where a 169-page supplementary charge sheet was also filed in the case.

The Supreme Court’s decision came after it heard a batch of petitions, including one filed by Singh, seeking a CBI probe
into all cases arising out of the Vyapam admission and recruitment scam.
