UPSC: The first paper began at 9:30 AM and there was no report of any protest outside any examination centre.
CSAT questions address students from urban and privileged backgrounds.
Govt clarifies that even if a candidate attempts the questions they will not count towards gradation.
“We are not satisfied with Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh’s speech in Lok Sabha regarding CSAT,” a UPSC aspirant said.
Marks scored in the “English language comprehension skills” section should not be considered for gradation or merit.
The protesters claimed that the current format discriminates against those who are not proficient in English.
The panel has also sought views on the payment of bonus, which is one of its terms of reference.
Concerns over age limits and number of chances for civil services are overblown.
The rule will be applied to the promotion of officers who were recruited through the disabled quota.
A candidate said authorities concerned should take appropriate action in the interest of the students.
