At a dharna in the holy city’s Bhandari Bridge, Union Minister Vijay Sampla, the main speaker at the protest, said the Congress was more dangerous than Pakistan as he blamed the opposition for the disruption.
The party has also planned to felicitate retired Scheduled Caste IAS, IPS and PCS officers at such functions.

He added, “Today, BJP is in a strong position because NCP gave its unconditional support to it, even before the election results were declared, which is surprising.”

He also said the RSS’ claim that the “gullible” nature of Mahatma Gandhi was responsible for the partition of India, was “wrong and misleading”.
“Why should we ask the high court to order a CBI or any other probe? The court-appointed SIT is probing the case and it is reporting directly to the high court,” said BJP leaders on condition of anonymity.
The BJP candidate has done strikingly well in the Kerala bypoll. But for now, there are limits to the party’s rise in the state.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP had got 14,000 votes in the Aruvikkara assembly segment, which is part of Attingal Lok Sabha seat.
