Ajai Rai claimed, case against Narendra Modi cannot be compared as he had shown his lotus symbol after casting vote.
Rai, however, dismissed these claims and said the voters of Varanasi will elect him as he was the only “son of the soil” in the fray.
Varanasi has some 3 lakh Muslim votes, and Wood claims to have noted a paradigm shift compared to previous elections.
Among the voters, there are close to 2,500 persons with Narendra as their first names, while over 3,600 have Arvind in their name.
Modi’s entry has made things difficult for Congress, which took a long time to decide its candidate before announcing MLA Ajay Rai’s name.

Rahul’s roadshow follows a massive one conducted by Aam Aadmi Party challenger Arvind Kejriwal yesterday and another one by Modi the day before.
He said there is virtually no contest for Narendra Modi in Varanasi.

“Charges levelled against me should be thoroughly investigated and if they are found true, I am ready to face any action. I will even quit active politics,” said Ajay Rai.
