Jamaica’s showman, Usain Bolt wrote his name in the history books by winning his third consecutive Olympic gold medal in the men’s 100 metre event at the Rio Games. Bolt clocked 9.81 seconds to win the race. His arch-rival United States’ Justin Gatlin came second with a timing of 9.89 seconds.
Gatlin who got a great start, where he was leading the race till 70 metres, failed to continue the momentun in the last 30 metres. Bolt shifted his gears and took over the American in that distance. Canada’s Andre de Grasse won bronze medal in 9.93 seconds.
As the world goes crazy after Bolt’s feat, India’s Test captain Virat Kohli, who is currently in Carribean for the Test series against West Indies, couldn’t control his excitment and took to his twiiter account to praise the Jamaican. Kohli called Bolt as the bestest ever.
“The bestest ever. He does it again. What a legend. There has been no one better than him. Take a bow.” Kohli tweeted.

Bolt will next be competing in qualifying for the men’s 200, which starts on Tuesday, and his final race in Rio Games will be the 4x100m men’s relay on Friday.
