Irfan Kolothum Thodi, 29: Irfan Kolothum Thodi will be competing in the 20 km men’s walk category at Rio 2016 Olympics. Irfan Thodi, who hails from Malappuram in Kerala, has previously qualified for the London 2012 Olympics in the 20 km walk event. His London Olympics stint was a a successful one as he went on to set a National record in the 20 km walk race. He managed to clock 1:20:21 seconds and also ranked 10th in the race walk event.  Irfan had also competed in the Federation Cup at Patiala, clocking a personal best of 1:22:09. Irfan also participated in the IAAF 20 km race walking challenge in Taicang, China, back in March 2013. He finished 5th in that event. Irfan looks forward to his second Olympics appearance and holds a good chance of winning a medal.

Record- Ranked 10th in the London 2012 20km race walk event. Finished 5th in the IAAF 20km race walk event in China in 2013.

Career Highlights – Gold in the National Open race walk Championship in 2011.
