On April 24, a Bokaro district court sentenced 10 people to life imprisonment for lynching Shamsuddin Ansari on suspicion of being a child-lifter. The incident occurred on April 4, 2017, under the Chandrapura police station.
The mob attack came a day after the wedding reception of Nayeem Ansari on April 16, when the mob reached their home and alleged that they had served “banned meat”. In the violence that followed, Nayeem’s father was injured and their home vandalised.
Principal Secretary (Health) Nidhi Khare said the ANM has been suspended with immediate effect, pending inquiry, and that samples of the vaccine collected will be sent for detailed forensic examination.

Fodder scam: Lalu yadav was found guilty in the fourth case pertaining to alleged withdrawal of Rs 3.5 crore from the Dumka treasury (which is now in Jharkhand) over two decades ago. The order on quantum of punishment will be passed following arguments on March 21, 22 and 23.
Jharkhand lynching: A fast-track court convicted 11 of the 12 accused, including a district BJP leader and at least three members of the local “gau raksha samiti”. The quantum of punishment will be announced on March 21, the court said.
