Nadal wasn't ready to go down without a fight and chased down the 19 year old Aussie but lost the opening set 7-6. He came back in the second set and looked to be finding form after taking it 7-5. (Source: AP)
The Aussie however, proved to be too good for Nadal as he tired him out and used his serve and strong forehand to good advantage and defeated the Spaniard 7-6 in the 4th set and cruised to a 6-3 win in the fifth which enabled him to win the game.
Nadal was simply overpowered and even his exceptional resilience proved to be only second best on the day as the Canberra boy's dream tournament continued. Kyrgios now faces Canada's Milos Raonic in the quarters. (Source: AP)
