
Since we're celebrating the special day of love, Valentine's Day, we take a look at some of our all-time hottest and best couples onscreen jodis - who we truly wish were real-life couples instead of only reel-life couples. Nonetheless, their performances have had us glowing with joy and sobbing with sadness as we too dreamed of love stories like theirs.

Kajol-Shah Rukh Khan: They won our hearts for the first time with their love story of all time, 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', where Shah Rukh Khan played the endearing Raj, while Kajol was the pretty shy and feisty Simran. Their first hit together remains the longest-running film in the history of Indian cinema.
Becoming one of the most loved pairing, their success followed with films like 'Baazigar', Karan Johar's 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', another huge commercial hit and family drama 'Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham'. Their last release was touching and heartfelt story 'My Name Is Khan'. The film is currently the 10th highest grossing Bollywood film with a worldwide gross of Rs 200 crore.

Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Hrithik and Aishwarya set the screen on fire with their sizzling chemistry in crime action click, 'Dhoom 2'. Dubbed as Bollywood's most handsome couple - the two once again teamed up together onscreen with their periodic love story 'Jodhaa Akbar', in which they made a beautiful pair. While 'Dhoom 2' acclaimed blockbuster status, 'Jodhaa Akbar' too had an impressive performance at the Box office. However their last release 'Guzaarish' failed to impress fans.

Amitabh Bachchan – Rekha: Theirs is supposedly said to be the most passionate affair in Bollywood, and their chemistry sure translated onscreen. One of their biggest hits, 'Silsila' saw the two lovers depict an extra-marital relationship. Some say it was a reflection of the real-life love triangle between Amitabh, Jaya and Rekha. They were also seen together in films like 'Suhaag, Muqaddar ka Sikander, Mr. Natwarlal' and 'Do Anjaane'.

Dharmendra-Hema Malini: The fact that the dreamgirl from the South shared something special with the Bollywood hunk was quite evident right from their first appearance together – 'Seeta and Geeta'. The couple that eventually tied the knot became a favourite and audiences wanted to see more and more of Dharmendra and Hema Malini together. Some of their hits include 'Raja Jani, Dream Girl, Sholay, Sharafat' and 'Tum Haseen Main Jawaan.'

Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone: Bollywood's reigning queen Deepika Padukone has neither confirmed nor denied the stories linking her to prince charming Ranveer Singh. However, the couple set temperatures soaring with their electrifying chemistry in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela', which was one of the highest grossing Bollywood films of 2013.

Kareena Kapoor-Shahid Kapoor: When the duo started dating, they were the most talked-about couple of their generation in the industry. He was soft-spoken, shy and charming and she was fun, bubbly and frank. They were seen together in quite a few films – 'Fida, Chup Chup Ke' and '36 China Town'. However, their biggest hit together came with Imtiaz Ali's 'Jab We Met'. However, by the time the film released, the lovebirds had gone their separate ways.

Salman Khan – Katrina Kaif: Bollywood was intrigued when rumours of these once-upon-a-time-real-life couple Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif started doing the rounds. They made a great onscreen and offscreen pair. They won us over with their chemistry in films like 'Partner', 'Hello' and 'Yuvvraaj'. Later, inspite of no longer being involved romantically, they came together once more for 'Ek Tha Tiger', which is the third-highest Bollywood grossing film of all time.

Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone: When Deepika and Ranbir carried the label of the 'new kids on the block', sparks flew on the sets of their film, 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' which saw them locking lips onscreen and the duo started dating. However, after an ugly breakup, the former flames put aside any sort of sour feelings and teamed up together for rom-com 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' last year. And result was electrifying both on screen and at the box office - and the movie became the fourth grossing Bollywood of all time in India and abroad.

Nargis–Raj Kapoor: Raj Kapoor and Nargis shared great passion both on and offscreen, despite him being a married man. From 1948 to 1956, they featured together in sixteen including 'Aag’ to ‘Barsaat, Awara' and 'Shree 420'. The audience simply could not get enough of them, sadly their real-life romance didn't last.

Sridevi – Anil Kapoor: Mr. India Anil Kapoor and Sridevi shared a splendid chemistry onscreen and were seen together in films like 'Lamhe, Judaai, Mr. India' and 'Roop Ki Rani Choro Ka Raja.' But she married his elder brother and producer Boney Kapoor and is now his elder sister-in-law.

Rajesh Khanna – Sharmila Tagore: They had us mesmerised by their magic in 'Aradhana' in 1969. Their greatest movie together was 'Amar Prem', one of the best movies ever made in Bollywood. They had several other successes too in 'Safar, Chhoti Bahu' and 'Avishkar'.
