WITH THE BJP’s announcing Prem Kumar Dhumal as its chief minister face nearly a week before polling day on November 9, the BJP campaign in Sujanpur constituency, from where Dhumal is contesting for the first time after shifting from Hampirpur, has started revolving around opening of a ‘Chief Minister’s camp office’ at Sujanpur’s Chougan. Developing Chougan, a large open ground in Sujanpur town, a tourist spot of “international standards,” is also a talking point.

BJP leaders in Sujanpur are asking people to vote for BJP, saying it would be a matter of “great pride” if the “future CM” was chosen from here. “Why do people need to travel 200 km to Shimla, the state capital, where CM office and residence is located, when the CM’s office will come to them to listen their problems at Sujanpur’s Chougan,” Dhumal’s younger son, Arun Dhumal told The Indian Express.

Arun Dhumal, as well as former CM Dhumal, themselves informed the people about opening of a camp office here during their public meetings and rallies. The BJP is also stressing upon developing Chougan as an International tourist spot and opening a museum at the Tihra Palace near Sujanpur town.
