Senior Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia on Saturday attacked the ruling BJP, saying that the party and RSS are indulging in “casteism and divisive politics”. He was responding to the remarks made by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley that “Congress is fanning casteism and playing divisive politics.”
Modhwadia said, “Casteism, communalism and dividing the society are in the DNA of BJP and RSS. It is not in our (Congress) DNA.” He also asked, “Why are BJP leaders not talking of development? Why are they hiding behind the facade of communalism and terrorism?”
He also questioned BJP president Amit Shah on his son Jay Shah’s business turnover. News portal The Wire had reported that the turnover of Jay’s firm increased 16,000 time the year after the BJP was elected to power at the Centre in 2014.
