In an alleged case of hate crime, a bald male wearing a black hooded coat punched an Asian man in the face after talking down to him. A loud thud was heard after his head knocked against the train’s window as the assailant quickly hops off the London train and onto the platform.
But not before a heroic woman sprints after the man screaming “Call the copper”.
The video was reportedly uploaded on Twitter by Muslim Council assistant secy general Miqdaad Versi on Tuesday.
The suspect has since been arrested by the police after the incident at Upton Park station in east London, according to a British Transport Police spokesperson. As reported in The Independent, the spokesperson said a 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and using threatening, abusive words, behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
