An Indian-American woman politician in the US has received hundreds of angry emails and phone calls, some telling her to “go back to India”, after she called for a nation-wide protest against President-elect Donald Trump. Kshama Sawant, a Seattle Councilwoman is one of the few socialist office holders in the US, has been receiving “vicious threats and racist comments” after she appealed her supporters to publicly protest against the inauguration of Trump as the 45th president of the US in January, media reports said.

“Join me, I appeal to you,… Let’s have a massive protest and tell America we do not accept a racist agenda and let’s make sure that on Inauguration Day, on the 20th and 21st of January, let’s do a nationwide shutdown and occupy inauguration,” Sawant said at a post-election press conference at Seattle City Hall on November 9.

The video of her press conference has gone viral on the social media. As a result, her office has been receiving all kinds of threatening messages.

“I will come and tattoo a swastika on your head and on that bitch’s head,” a (Sawant) staffer was told on phone, Council spokesperson Dana Robinson Slote told Q13 News in an email.

“Go back to India bitch,” another email read.

“I am tired of being shamed because I’m a white male. You automatically think I’m a racist. How about you go the (expletive) back to India or wherever you came from?” another email said.

“Ever stop to think we see (Obama) as a racist? But we carried on and lived to fight another day. Stop being such a cry baby bitch and go hang yourself.”

In 2013, Sawant made history to become the first socialist elected in Seattle in 100 years by winning a City Council seat.

Post general election, she has called her movement as “Build the resistance against Trump.”

US is not India where personal freedom is stretched to ludicrous stage.hence the reaction to the March.the socialist must be descendant of a Neta / babu from India with ill gotten wealth migrated to greener pastures, who is trying to spread the evil of socialism.

India should not accept these leftist cartoons from USA as they create ruckus then trying to contribute .Trump is already President elect now don't do drama as you are doing in India against Modi.Accept the fact and don't creat panic.Though white are not original inhabitants of USA but still they form majority and you have to respect their views if you want your views to be heard and don't play victim card.Every country has right to do whatever is good for them including curbing immigration.Don't be smug like Muslims who want every liberty when minority which they are not ready to reciprocate when majority.Be a honest hardworking Hindu and not a smug Hillary supporter while in USA and accept the fact.

what is wrong in they saying " go back to india " if you agitate against their democratically elected president and instigate people to violence. After all, are we not doing the same in India?

I feel she has no right to challenge a democratically elected person ,however much she may be dislike his policies . If she persists ,it shows that she has no faith in democracy and should leave that country.

The greatest calamity that the US is faced with since the past eight years is the continuous rhetoric by the left that the US is a racist and homophobic society, that its consution is flawed including the Second amendment, that the US has systematically drained other countries of their economy and collected the spoils of war. Nothing is more further than the truth. lt;br/gt;Dealing briefly with each one of the above claims:lt;br/gt;Firstly, racism was brought to an end officially by Lincoln with the bloody death of thousands of white men. Persistent ideology of African American hate that was still persistent at the university level and elsewhere was brought to an end in the late sixties of the last century when wisdom donned upon citizens with the proactive movement pioneered by Martin Luther King Jr. The seventies and eighties saw a gigantic leap in US success to the extent that the entire world (including highly restrictive and US hating countries like Saudi Arabia marvel at incorporation of all materialism that has its roots in the success of US discovery, growth and development). The biggest argument against the claim of the left of racism in the US is the reality of the promise of opportunity and support for twice elected Barak Obama and others such as, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson and hundreds of others who have seen the rainbow of success by African Americans supported by the consutional promise of right to life, wealth and pursuit of happiness.lt;br/gt;Secondly, the right to bear arms: This amendment was insuted for protection of citizens from a totalitarian and despotic government if it became so, and if the tyranny of such a government threatened the very security of the citizens. The left despises this.lt;br/gt;This election cycle ended with the sitting government in shambles. The very ghetto existence that this regime has created and nurtured in states such as California, Illinois and New York with the creation of a permanent undercl of minority citizens and illegal aliens with welfare handouts has systematically destro the yearning and zeal by most to work their way to success. The Democratic left has systematically destro the concept of a family with pop culture, decadence in school and university education, ceding to the plague of political correctness and decrying the fundamental tenets of inclusiveness and American exceptionalism.lt;br/gt;Now that the people have spoken, and rid the nation of a anti-american and devisive wave of politics, the Democrats in general and the left in particular must shut up and wait till the next election cycle. This is what American values stand for. Just three weeks earlier, Donald Trump was called anti-national and undemocratic to have doubted acceptance of the result of a possibly rigged election which he had alleged. The same people have now resorted to an unprecedented wave of protest and violence in refusing to accept the result of a free and fair election, and this is being actively supported by the left mainstream media. If Americans cannot accept the verdict of a democratic election result, I guess they cannot call themselves American to start with. If these people love their country (and its Consution), the least they can do is to introspect. They need to understand why this time, more African Americans and Hispanics have voted for Trump and not for the Democrats. Their collective frustration is phenomenal. The very fact that they did so is so unacceptable to those on the left (including millennials) that they see no other form of resistance other than resorting to violence.

You stupid s .All of you white or black are immigrants and not natives of America. Even Trump's wife is an immigrant. Don't ask any citizen of America to leave the country .Because all of you are in the same boat.

Once the elections are over everyone should accept results gracefully...this Sawant woman seems to have higher political ambitions after having won a council seat- there is nothing wrong in being ambitious but the pedestal should not be a "Hate Trump" one and thereby disrespecting the choice of voters who voted for him..Desis must learn to respect the systems of the host country

Hmmm if the opinion is of their choice it is okay, but if it is opposite to what they asked, then there should be protests. Okay So this is what tolerance means for these socialists. And then they call the right wingers intolerant... Sheesh.

Just for the sake of muslims votes these s are barking against the public judgement of Americans which elects a president with a por vote in an general election. If this lady is not willing to accept Mr. Trump as the POTU, better she can migrate to peace loving and democracy flourishing Arab countries. Please USA, dont send this to India,Please.
