Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has alleged that the ‘failed political establishment’ has delivered nothing but poverty at home and disaster overseas, as he asserted that it is time to reject the media and political elite who have ‘bled’ the country dry. “Our failed political establishment has delivered nothing but poverty at home and disaster overseas. They get rich making America poor. It’s time to reject a media and political elite that’s bled our country dry,” Trump told his supporters in Sarasota, Florida — one of his campaign stops on Monday.
He repeated his closing arguments at a series of meetings throughout the day. “It’s finally time for us to fight for America. We’re going to fight for America. I’m not a politician. My only special interest is you,” he said amidst chant of “USA! USA! USA!” from his supporters.
Trailing slightly behind in polls against Hillary Clinton, Trump claimed that he is doing good in a number of battleground States and there is a surge in his support.c”We’re gonna win Michigan. We’re gonna win Minnesota. We’re leading big in Ohio. We’re leading in Iowa. We’re leading in New Hampshire. We’re leading in North Carolina. We’re doing very, very well in Pennsylvania. Very well.
Florida, he said, has lost one in four of its manufacturing jobs since NAFTA, a deal signed by Bill Clinton and supported by Hillary Clinton. “America has lost, hard to believe this, 70,000 factories since China entered the World Trade Organisation, another Bill and Hillary-backed disaster.
We are living through the greatest jobs theft in the history of our world,” he said.
“Look, no country has ever lost jobs like us. They’re sucked out of our country, the companies leave, they fire everybody, they go to Mexico and many other countries,” he added.
Trump said if elected, he will cancel billions and billions of dollars in global warming payments to the United Nations where those payments disappear. “We are gonna use all of that money to invest in the infrastructure and we could even say the environmental infrastructure of our country.
“Remember this, remember this. When it comes to environment because I receive many environmental awards people don’t wanna talk about that, that’s OK,” he said.
“But we need absolutely crystal clear and clean water. We need beautiful, immaculate air. We need safety and we need safety. We give billions and billions of dollars away, you can imagine who’s taking that money,” he said.
“We don’t even know what happens to it…We will create jobs and opportunities for African-Americans and Hispanic Americans that have been failed so badly.
“They’ve been lied to, they’ve been cheated to by the Democratic Party. They want their vote, give us your vote, thanks a lot, see you in four years. That’s what happens,” he said.
Trump said he will stop illegal immigration, deport all criminal aliens and dismantle every last criminal gang and cartel threatening the cities. “They’re threatening our cities, they are threatening our citizens, they are not going to be here very long, folks.
They’re gonna be out of here. We will also repeal the Obama-Clinton defence sequester and rebuild our badly depleted military,” he said.
“We’re also going to support our friends in Cuba in their fight against oppression, the oppression of the Castro regime. Tremendous repression. We will demand political and religious freedom for the people of Cuba and stand with our friends in Venezuela in their struggle likewise for freedom we will stand,” he said.
The United States, he said, has to stand strong with the state of Israel in their fight against Islamic terrorism.
“Barack Obama was the worst thing that ever happened to Israel. The worst thing. The worst thing that ever happened to Israel. Barack Obama was a disaster for Israel.
“And believe me, the Iran deal where we made them rich, we also gave them a direct path right to nuclear weapons. But we’ll be working with Israel very closely, very, very closely,” he said.
