Strong 7.2 earthquake strikes Tajikistan, impact felt across North India

An earthquake measuring 7.2 magnitude struck in Tajikistan on Monday, almost a month a similar quake was felt in North West Afghanistan measuring 7. 7 on the Richter scale.

While the epicentre of the quake was 111 km (65 miles) southwest of Karakul, the tremors were felt across the subcontinent.

The October quake was about 50 km southwest of the city of Jarm near Afghanistan’s border with Tajikistan.

However, there were no initial reports of damage from any of the regions. Further details awaited.
