Republican candidate Donald Trump scripted a historic and stunning victory against his Democrat rival Hillary Clinton who was widely seen as the front-runner in the fiercely contested US Presidential elections. Soon after the results were announced, Trump thanked the voters and said he will work hard to ‘rebuild America.’
Addressing his supporters soon after the results were announced, Trump said, “It is time for us to come together as one united people. I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president of all Americans.” He also congratulated Clinton ‘on her hard campaign.’ “US owes her debt of gratitude for her service,” Trump said amid cheers and applauds from the crowd. Trump thanked his family members who were standing right behind him when he made the victory speech. “I love you… this political stuff is nasty and it’s tough,” he said.
Briefly spelling out his priorities as the next president, Trump said that he will rebuild highways, schools, hospitals and promised employment to millions of people. Asserting that America will not settle for anything less than the best, Trump said he would double America’s growth and the country will have the strongest economy in the world.
Trump’s remarkable victory seems to have stunned the Clinton Campaign into silence with the Democrat candidate not appearing to address her supporters. Earlier, major poll surveys, however, had predicted a clear win for Clinton.
