An employee of Apple Inc was found dead on Wednesday at the company’s headquarters in the Silicon Valley, Reuters reported. Local media reported the victim had suffered a head wound and a gun was found beside the body.
The victim, unidentified as of yet, was found in a conference room on the campus, according to a dispatch audio posted on the San Jose Mercury News website.
Sergeant Andrea Urena of the Santa Clara County Sheriff was quoted by Reuters saying they believed the incident to be an isolated one and no one inside or outside the campus was at risk.
The company released a statement offering condolences to the victim.
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of a young and talented coworker. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends, including the many people he worked with here at Apple,” the statement read.
