Pakistan to set up military courts for terrorist trials

The decision has been taken to expedite the trial of militants who take advantage of traditional courts to delay convictions for years.

He further said that the process of establishing military courts for the purpose of trying terror suspects was already underway.

Asif added that there would be no discrimination in carrying out convictions of terrorists who have been sentenced to death and whose appeals have been rejected.

The Defence Minister’s remarks came after the civilian and military leadership of the country met today in Rawalpindi and announced zero tolerance for terrorism in the aftermath of the deadly Peshawar school attack that killed 148 people.
