US Vice-President-elect Mike Pence endured some jittery moments when a cast member of the popular American musical hit “Hamilton” made a fervent plea on the show, urging the new administration of President-elect Donald J. Trump to work on behalf of all Americans.
Following the conclusion of the critically-acclaimed play, Brandon Victor Dixon thanked Pence for his presence. He then passionately read out a letter to him on stage which drew rousing cheers from the audience.
“We, sir — we — are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights,” he said. “We truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf all of us.”

According to reports, the letter was penned by the show’s writers on learning that Pence would be attending the show. The cast member began reading the letter when Pence was about to leave.
Trump had waged a fiercely divisive campaign before pulling off stunning presidential victory last week. However, he called for unifying Americans in his post-victory campaign.
