Dilwale Dilhunaiya Le Jaenge is one of the only films made in the ’90s that has stayed with the generation because, at that time, it gave many, relationship goals. The movie, in the decade, seem to have taught people about fighting for love and Raj and Simran became the epitome of it.
The love for the film is immense and there’s proof for it. It has been running Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir for over 20 years now despite the management deciding to stop screening the film in February last year. You just can’t get over it, can you?
Of late, YouTubers have found a new fascination with the film. A lot of videos on DDLJ are doing the rounds on social media. A few days ago, ‘2 foreigners in Bollywood’ recreated the iconic ‘Jaa Simran Jaa’ scene from the movie; an episode that left many wondering why people didn’t pull the chain when they saw Simran running!
Well, that’s about Bollywood.
But here is a 5-minute poetic spoof of 3-hour long film created by Pun Seekh Kebab in which Parag and Rajni narrate the film in their own hilarious way. The verse has, ‘Monobrow tha liwaz simran ka’, ‘the women in the house ain’t got no gist’ and ‘Ghar mein independence uski hoti hurt, garden me jaake nache pehne choti skirt’, ‘Naada london ka leykein desi kachche’.
