As tension between India and Pakistan has been escalating with attacks and counter strikes at the borders, a video with a soldier’s message to the neighbour has gone viral. The video, widely circulated on WhatsApp, shows a jawan of the Sikh Regiment posted in forward areas warning Islamabad.
The video shows a jawan sitting with other members of his company and singing a powerful song in Punjabi. The soldier can be heard saying that the enemies have seen our love and not our anger. The song is a clear warning to those who have been attacking our troops at the LoC. The jawan very clearly says the forces are ready to combat and ‘destroy’ the opponent and just waiting for a nod from the government.
It is not clear where and when the video was shot, but it also shows the tough living condition of soldiers guarding the nation.
The video emerges at a point when in the recent weeks many soldiers have lost their lives and the body of a jawan was even found mutilated.
Over 290 incidents of firing and shelling along the LoC and the International Border by Pakistani troops have been witnessed since Indian Army conducted surgical strikes on terrorist launchpads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on September 29.
Government data obtained by The Indian Express show 279 exchanges of fire between Indian and Pakistani troops between September 29, when India announced its cross-LoC strikes on the Lashkar-e-Toiba, and November 15 — the highest level since 2003.
